Multinational Industrial Security Working Group
The Multinational Industrial Security Working Group (MISWG) is an international group of National Security Authorities /Designated Security Authorities representatives that are responsible for industrial security in their country.

Vision
The Multinational Industrial Security Working Group will be the recognized collaborative body for international industrial security best practices.
Mission
MISWG will promote, improve and harmonize common international industrial security best practices to safeguard classified and certain other forms of government-controlled information in order to confront current and emerging security threats and challenges within its scope.
Purposes
To meet its vision and mission statements, MISWG will:
- Promote and enhance industrial security with regard to multinational governmental programs and projects;
- Develop and adopt standardized procedures that warrant the common interest or concern of the MISWG membership, and promote their implementation;
- Provide a meeting point among MISWG Members, Aspirants and Observers that encourages dialogue, cooperation and information sharing; and
- Encourage and facilitate trusted cooperation during the exchange of information in the conduct of international industrial security activities, including the development of best practices, the assessment of security threats and the conduct of security assessments.
Meetings
The MISWG Plenary is held once a year and the meetings are held on the territory of the chairing country. There are different working groups that cover a multitude of tasks (Ad hoc working groups (AHWG) or Communities of Practice (COP), that reconvene one or more times a year:
- MISWG AHWGs derive their mandate and direction from the MISWG Plenary. They are established to address a particular issue and will be assigned a specific time frame.
- A MISWG Community of Practice (COP) is an interactive and informal group. The focus of a MISWG COP is to solve a specific issue, to share a solution, and create new knowledge to advance a domain related to industrial security.

Bulgaria is the host and chair of the 2026 MISWG Plenary. Canada currently chairs the Executive Committee of MISWG.
Participants
The MISWG Participants consist of four categories: MISWG Members, Aspirants, Observers and Guests. MISWG Members and MISWG Aspirants consist of delegates from nations and MISWG Observers consist of delegates from international organisations or bodies. Guests participating at selected plenaries and MISWG Ad Hoc Working Groups consist of any other delegates including from the industry.
